What tracking starts with Upaa? ›

When seller ships your purchase you will get weird looking UPAA**** number assigned by eBay's Global Shipping Program (GSP), this is the Pitney Bowes tracking number. Pitney Bowes is eBay's outsourcing company for international shipping. Enter that number into search field above to track location of your package.

eBay's service provider, a global shipping company called Pitney Bowes, manages the international delivery and customs process from there on. The seller has done their part, so Pitney Bowes are responsible for the package from when it arrives at the shipping center until it reaches the buyer's door.

Shipping and tracking items

When you create a shipping label on eBay, this is done automatically for you. Once a tracking number is uploaded, it is converted to a Global Tracking number which you and your buyer can use to track the item until delivery.

Lost, damaged, and undeliverable items

If a GSP item is lost or damaged after it reaches the Global Shipping Center, both buyer and seller may be covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee or PayPal Purchase Protection program.

Non-EU countries

Items generally arrive within 3-5 days in the EU and 7-10 days for non-EU destinations. Parcels can take a little longer; however, packages sent via the Global Shipping Programme benefit from professional customs processing, which helps to minimise any delays at customs.

A UPS tracking number, for domestic packages within the United States, will usually start with "1Z" followed by a 6 character shipper number (numbers and letters), a 2 digit service level indicator, and finally 8 digits identifying the package (the last digit being a check digit), for a total of 18 characters.

But with the Global Shipping Program, eBay offers buyers protection against loss or damage, so you don't have to worry about it. Once your parcel reaches a shipping center, eBay takes on responsibility for cross-border selling, such as import/export charges and tax, and the customs process.

Under GSP, sellers only need to send their eligible items to a shipping center located in their own country. From there on, eBay's service provider manages the international delivery and is responsible for the package until it reaches the buyer's door.

Handling returns through the Global Shipping Programme

In all circumstances, eBay will be responsible for refunding international postage costs, while you have to refund the cost of the item and domestic postage costs.

Does eBay global shipping cost the seller? ›

Regular Post

Buyers are responsible for paying import charges. If you offer international postage, you can't include these costs in the item's purchase and postage price. Make sure to let international buyers know about this in your listings.
